FAU’s Shades of Green “Return to Glamour” Event is Sure to Turn Heads
The Caring Hearts Auxiliary of Florida Atlantic University’s Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center will hold its annual Shades of Green event on Friday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eleanor R. Baldwin House on FAU’s Boca Raton campus. Honorary chairs are Nicholas Breuer, M.D., David Hevert, M.D. and Robert Sonneborn, M.D.
“We're going to recreate the elegance of a posh 1950's nightclub complete with live music of the era,” said Cibi Hoffman, event chairperson. Hoffman is co-chairing the event with Holli Rockwell and Becky Davis. “The stately president's house is the perfect setting for this event, where guests will enjoy exceptional hors d’oeuvres and libations.”
The Memory andWellness Center, located on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, is part of Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing and averages more than 14,000 visits per year. The Center offers a wide range of services and programs to individuals with mild to moderate memory disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Visits often begin with a comprehensive memory evaluation. The evaluation results can help diagnose a memory disorder and develop a treatment plan in cooperation with a patient’s personal physicians.
The Day Center provides an active and secure place for families to bring spouses or parents who are experiencing memory loss, and the caregiver support programs have a positive impact on life at home.
“The hard work of our auxiliary enables the Center to continue state-of-the art services to families living with memory disorders,” said Denise Sparks, Ph.D., director of the Center. “We are deeply appreciative and know that every dollar counts.”
